I am a Christian and I read the Scriptures regularly; therefore, I know that any person who believes that the coming of Messiah depends on the Jewish people gathering in the Holy Land (Israel) or becoming “saved” is incorrect in their understanding of the Scriptures and incorrect in their theology. I reject the notion that Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus the Christ) can come only when His people Israel are all gathered in the land He promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
We learn in the book of Isaiah that after Jesus has returned to earth to establish His kingdom on earth (and in Israel), “He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; He will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four quarters of the earth.” (Isaiah 11:12). Notice that the believing remnant of Israel (Isaiah 11:11) are gathered to Israel by Jesus Himself after His return to earth.
The Jewish people and the State of Israel are uniquely the Lord’s, and I know that Israel will administer the Kingdom of Heaven on earth when He returns. Jesus will sit on David’s throne in Jerusalem, and He will rule with an iron rod and with justice for all people. I hear many Jewish people speak of justice, and the One True God is indeed just, and kind, and his mercies are new every morning. Lamentations 3:22-23 reads “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail, they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness”.
I love God because He first loved me. 1st John 4:19 reads “We love because He first loved us”. And that is why I love the Jewish people and the State of Israel, because God your creator loves you deliberately and passionately, and I am blessed by God just as He said to Abraham in Genesis 12:3 “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you will be cursed”. It is true that I do not descend from the flesh of Abraham, but it is also true that I have been grafted in to God’s people Israel because I have believed God, just as Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness. Romans 11:24 reads “After all, if you (gentile believers) were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree (Israel), how much more readily will these, the natural branches (Israel), be grafted into their own olive tree!”.
Eternal life is knowing both God and Yeshua (Jesus). Read the Gospel of John 17:3, “Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent”. And this is why I have “pitched my tent” with the Jewish people, because He will return to His people (the Jewish people) and will rule with justice and mercy. And this is why we read frequently in the book of Exodus and elsewhere “… so that they (all people) may know that I am the Lord”. Thus we know that it is God’s desire that all people know Him in a personal relationship (which is eternal life), and that such Truth was given first through the people of Israel.
All men are responsible to believe God according to the revelation of truth He has given them in their time. Psalm 2:6 reads “I have installed my King on Zion, My holy hill”. and again in Psalm 2:9 “You will rule them with an iron scepter; You will dash them to pieces like pottery. Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling”.
I am a stranger among the Jewish people, not fully welcome; nevertheless, I want to become a friend to the Jewish people. An invitation to eternal life is not an invitation to Christianity; it is an invitation to know the One True God – the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
My prayer for the Jewish people and for all people is to choose life and to rejoice both in peace and in trial, because Yeshua the King of Israel is coming soon! When Yeshua (Jesus) began his public ministry, it was to Israel only, and the message to His people was “repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near”. And by the grace of God, all people may now repent and receive the Salvation of God and become citizens of His soon coming kingdom. I urge all people to read the gospel of Matthew and heed the words of Rabbi Jesus.
